Yoga

Nothing is more important than children’s health and happiness. Yoga is a great activity to give children the ultimate head start.  Yoga provides all the vital foundations for physical, mental, and emotional development. It’s also a fun activity for kids. Our philosophy is to let children discover their own personal self-worth and self-love. To give them tools to cope with situations as they arise and help them handle themselves with confidence, empathy, and kindness. These tools will be carried on throughout their life.

The classes include: Yoga postures, Stories, stretching exercises, Games, Mind focusing, Songs and music, Breathing exercises, Relaxation

The purpose of a regular yoga and mindfulness practice is to help little ones feel a greater sense of ease, strength, and confidence. We encourage individuality and we always aim to create a space of calmness. By uniting our thoughts with our feelings, we can build self-awareness and self-control. Through a light movement of yoga and stretching, we can help our kindy kids leave the class with more awareness of mind / body and how it works together. Most importantly, they can achieve a deep sense of relaxation, whilst increasing flexibility.

Music

Miss Gemma creates programs to inspire a love for melody, rhythm, improvisation, harmony, beat, structure, and intonation. One of her greatest inspirations for teaching is to witness a child expressing his/her unique creative gifts with others. She offers the children the opportunity to grow in trust through her use of repetition (for children to successfully learn the songs) and the chance to perform for others. A musical focus is incorporated into each lesson where appropriate songs are carefully selected to give our Kool Beanz the opportunity to learn about the focus. Instruments such as the ukulele, guitar, lyre harp, drums, shakers, and tambourines are used to emphasise and give life to the focus.

Elements of dance are incorporated into each lesson where structured movement is taught but space is also given for children to improvise and tune into the joy of their own unique expression and ‘ground’ their bodies. Scarves and other props are used to encourage experimentation. A diverse range of music allows children to explore movement and be stimulated by various styles/genres that they may not usually hear in everyday life.

Japanese

Children who learn another language before age five use the same part of the brain to acquire that second language that they use to learn their mother tongue. Younger learners are also uninhibited by the fear of making mistakes, which is sometimes an obstacle for older beginners.

Miss Kazu teaches Japanese in a fun and engaging way encouraging the children to sing songs to help learn. It’s never too early to begin learning a language: it’s fun, it promotes healthy development, and the many cognitive and social benefits will last a lifetime.

Sports Program

The Future Champs programs were developed by Nathan Riddle in 2013. Nathan believes that through children participating in these programs they will not only improve their physical development; they will also gain the knowledge and confidence that they will need to lead a happy and healthy life.

Having three young children of his own he understands how important it is to promote a healthy and active lifestyle, along with focussing on the mind body and soul, to help our children grow into strong, outgoing, positive adults.

They also offer an educational show called “Captain Carrot’. The Captain Carrot show is a fun and informative way to teach the children good food choices and how to keep their bodies active.

All their professional coaches are qualified as Personal Trainers and/or Childcare Educators, equipped with First Aid and Blue Cards.
